by Josh McCrohon @JoshMcCrohon57Tomorrow night, Chris Eubank Jr. will defend his WBA Super Middleweight title against George Grooves. Grooves is currently 27-3 while Eubank currently stands at 26-1; he has only suffered one loss in his professional career and that loss was to BJ Saunders. This will be an excellent fight and the first professional fight I can say I’m really looking forward to in 2018! Eubank is one of the best middleweight boxers in the world today, while Groves is finally making his way up in the rankings. Tale of the TapeMy PredictionThis is a tough one to predict, like really hard to predict. But, ultimately, I just see Eubank having too much for Groves, especially the longer the fight goes!
My prediction therefore is Chris Eubank; Round 9; TKO I’ve been Josh and join me on Sunday for the Boxing Analysis.

by Josh McCrohon @JoshMcCrohon57Welcome to the first Boxing Predictions by Wrestling & More in 2018! Tonight, we see Lawrence Okolie battle it out with Issac Chamberlain. So, since it’s a new year, we have a new template for this series. Let’s start it off with: The Tale of the TapeC = Chamberlain O = Okolie Debut: O- 2017 I C- 2015 Record: O- 7-0 I C- 9-0 Age: O- 25 I C- 23 Height: O- 6ft.5 I C- 6ft.2 The two fighters have both made their boxing debut relatively recently. It is crazy how Okolie made his debut only last year, already racking up 7 victories in the space of just 11 months. Okolie is quickly ascending into title contention and I think it’s only a matter of time until we see him as a big name in boxing. Chamberlain has also made a name for himself as his last victory saw him defeat Ossie Jervier in the 6th round by TKO. Chamberlain’s last fight was in October whereas Okolie’s most recent fight was in December 2017. Okolie has a tendency of fighting every 2 months and this fight is no different as he takes on Chamberlain just 2 months after his last! My ThoughtsThis fight looks good. It’ll be a good fight to watch and will be a 10 round fight for the vacant WBA Continental Cruiserweight Championship. It’ll be interesting to see what fighter suffers their first defeat in the history of their career tonight, as it must be one of them; they both are undefeated! My PredictionsBoth fighters can go the distance – that we know.
My Prediction is Okolie in the 4th round by TKO. Join me later tonight as I break down this fight; round by round in the first Boxing Analysis of 2018! See you then! by Josh McCrohon @JoshMcCrohon57My ThoughtsThis Saturday night will feature one hell of a boxing match between BJ Saunders and David Lemieux. This will be for the WBO World Middleweight Championship, a title which Saunders currently holds around his shoulder but that can all change with one right hand from Lemieux. Wow. What a fight this will be. On one hand, Saunders is 25-0 in his boxing career (which is an incredible feat) but on the other Lemieux is 38-3 which is also an amazing record to have. All we know for certain is that this will be an all out war and I don’t use that term lightly. It’s time for the predictions; My PredictionsOH BOY IS THIS HARD TO PREDICT! Saunders has beaten Eubank Jr. which is pretty darn impressive. Lemieux has defeated Marco Reyes which isn’t a walk in the park by any stretch of the imagination as there’s only a handful of men who’ve defeated him. This really could go either way and after my last predictions didn’t go too well, I have to be careful.
My prediction is BJ Saunders wins after a 12 round bout, this will go the distance. Wow, what a fight this’ll be! You can read the round-by-round article this Sunday morning when I bring to you the second edition of “The Boxing Analysis”. Half 3 in the morning...Jesus Christ! by Josh McCrohon @JoshMcCrohon57My ThoughtsOn the 9th of December, James Debale will battle Caleb Truax in an all out war. The boxing match is for the prestigious IBF Super Middleweight title which is currently held by DeGale. I think this fight will be amazing, in fact this may be fight of the night - which is saying something as the card also features Anthony Yarde vs. Nikola Sjekloca which will be brutal in itself! My PredictionsThis is a tough one. However, my prediction is that James DeGale will win in the 8th round... If not the 8th round then the 9th round...My final prediction is DeGale retains in the 9th round.
As of writing it is currently 6pm on the Saturday of the 9th. The fight is hours away, this blog will most likely be published AFTER the fight but I will be doing another article where I break down the rounds of the fight so look forward to that. I’ve been Josh from Wrestling & More, do you agree with my prediction? Sound off below! |
