by Josh McCrohon @JoshMcCrohon57Welcome to This Week In Ring Of Honor, later in the week there will be a review of Manhattan Mayhem followed by the 16th Anniversay show, but let’s start with episode 337!
The Run-Down: *Intro* Match #1 - The Briscoes vs. The Best Friends Jay & Mark Briscoe are out first. Beretta & Chuky T follow next for this tag team match. The Briscoes unsurprisingly attack the Best Friends before the match even begins. The Best Friends take turn clotheslining Mark in the corner and then end it with a hug. The Briscoes quickly gain advantage before Mark kicks Chucky T and suplexes him on the outside! *Adverts* Mark Briscoe doesn’t let Berreta tag out to Taylor. Trent Tornado DDTs Mark and tags out, before diving onto both brothers. The Best Friends perform a Lawndart Cutter which Mark kicks out of at 2. Jay Briscoe then pushes Taylor off the top rope and Mark takes advantage. Jay Briscoe hits the Jay Driller and Mark hits a Vintage Elbow Drop and The Briscoes pick up a big win! Match Rating: 7.5/10 The Motor City Machine Guns attack The Briscoes after the match and Shelly chokes Mark with a chain. *Adverts* Match #2 - Christopher Daniels vs. Adam Page The In-Ring General is here first to battle it out with Hangman Page, with his buddies- Scorpio Sky & “Star Of The Show” point stealer himself, Frankie Kazarian. Adam Page is out next but he’s alone, which is fascinating. Bully Ray comes out and says he didn’t want the Bullet Club at ringside but he also doesn’t want the rest of SOCAL Uncensored there either. He congratulates Bullet Club for listening and says that if SOCAL UNCENSORED don’t get out of there in the next 5 seconds, Daniels is suspended and DQ’ed. The match finally begins and Page unleashes on former Ring of Honor champ. Daniels chops him and Irish Whips him into the corner, but Page runs back and hits a big clothesline. He tosses Daniels into the barricade, chops him and throws him back into the ring. He then enters the ring at the count of fourteen. Daniels hits a clothesline onto the back of Page’s neck to transition us into the break. *Adverts* We return to a Christopher Daniels’ headlock. He hits a Blue Thunderbomb but Page kicks out of 2. He then hits several elbows but Page comes back and they do the Yeah/Boo spot, which Page ends with a Discus Forearm. The Hangman hits a Powerbomb from out of nowhere, hits a Superkick and Daniels rolls out. Page runs along the apron and hits a big running Shooting Star Press onto a standing Daniels. Daniels smacks Page with a judo throw and goes for a Moonsault but Page has the knees up, winning the match with a lariat. Match Rating: 8/10 After the match, Page is celebrating, Daniels grabs his leg and Shane Taylor runs down and does some severe damage to the Bullet Club member. Daniels the. screams in the face of an unconscious Hangman; “Bullet Club is dead”. Bully Ray is on the stage and Daniels walks toward him, totally oblivious, and finally sees Ray. Daniels tries to explain saying that Shane isn’t apart of SOCAL Uncensored. Match #3 - Punishment Martinez & Marty Scurll vs. Jay Lethal & Dalton Castle Spooky Martin is out first, followed by his partner, Marty Scurll. It is officially Marty & Martin verses Lethal Castle. Lethal is out first and then Castle, a very weird contrast between the teammates! Martinez is starting the match with the Champion, Dalton Castle. Martinez is massive compared to Castle. Martinez points at Lethal and Castle tags Lethal in. Martinez locks in a tight side headlock. Martinez goes for the chokeslam but Lethal escapes and chops Martinez. Marty Scurll is begging for the tag and Punishment tags in. Scurll receives “Marty!” chants, I’m proud of the guy. Dalton Castle says “I want a piece of that” and Lethal tags him in. Scurll pushes Castle, but the champion grapples him into the corner. Scurll requests a handshake but ‘boops’ him on the nose and Castle overhead suplexes him. Dalton Castle gets tagged back in and hits a nice suplex. Jay Lethal gets tagged BACK in and hits a suplex of his own. Scurll gains the advantage and jumps over the top rope and hits his Superkick on the apron thing he does. As we return from the break, Jay Lethal & Martinez are the legal men. Scurll tags himself back in and Castle fights them both off, hitting a nice slam to Scurll before hitting it again. He elbows Martinez and sends him into the corner and hits some knees. Castle executes a PERFECT German suplex - one of the best I’ve seen in a while. Castle of course showing everybody why he is champion. Lethal is the legal man now and sends Scurll into the corner but Dalton is behind Scurll. Lethal hits a drop kick, but Scurll moves out the way and hits Dalton. Marty Scurll hits the Ghostbuster onto the Franchise and calls for the Chicken Wing and begins moving backwards, only for Spooky Martin to tag back in. He hits the Sycho Driver and lands a big stomp but Lethal kicks out at 2. The Villain tags himself back in and Martinez pushes Scurll. Scurll gets into a fight with Castle while Lethal fights Martinez. Lethal hits a Lethal Combination onto Scurll before Punishment Martinez hits a Ripcord Kick onto Lethal and... roars? He hits a Discus Clothsline and throws himself into the Champion who is lying wasted in the corner. However, Castle catches him and German Suplexes him! Marty Scurll Suplexes Castle into the corner. Jay Lethal dives onto The Villain on the outside. Back in the ring, Martinez throws in one of The Boy. Lethal hits an Enziguiri and the referee checks on The Boy. Marty throws powder (aiming for Lethal) but it hits Martinez instead. Lethal hits the Lethal Injection onto Marty for the win! Match Rating: 8.5/10 After the match, Bully Ray DOES NOT come out because he is biased! Lethal stares off with Castle to close the show. My Thoughts: That’s the Ring of Honor I know and love! Last week was a bit weird, but it’s back to normal now, so let’s rate it! Ratings System (Worst-Best) Motor Sh***y Machine Guns TK OK Ryan Josh “The Goods” Goods A-Jay-Zing This week’s episode gets an A-Jay-Zing! Congrats. Star Of The Show: After that episode, let’s see who the Star of This Week is, but first let’s see last week’s leaderboard: 1st: Frankie Kazarian (5) 2nd: Kenny King (3) 3rd: Adam Page (2) 4th: The Young Bucks & Jay Lethal (1) This week’s Number 3, and receiveing 1 point is Jay Lethal. Lethal has a title match on the 16th Anniversary Show, but first took part in an awesome mainevent tonight teaming up with Dalton Castle. Lethal isn’t new to the Star of the Show, and has previously earnt one point, this week he also gains one point which takes him up to a rather unimpressive 2 points, but I’m positive that he will rack himself up some points in weeks to come. Number 2 now and earning 2 points this week is The Villain, Marty Scurll. This is Marty’s first week on the Star of the Show, but I think this is the first week that he’s been on ROH since adding in this new segment. Marty teamed with future opponent, Punishment Martinez. Marty was really impressive in the match so I’m glad there’s room for him in this table. And finally the official star of the show: Dalton Castle! The Champion looked unbelievable tonight, and hit suplexes at all angles in the match, he showed off his amateur background which made him look even stronger and even more title-worthy. 1st: Frankie Kazarian (5) 2nd: Dalton Castle & Kenny King (3) 3rd: Adam Page, Jay Lethal & Marty Scurll (2) 4th: The Young Bucks (1) This is the third and only week so far without Frankie Kazarian entering the leaderboard. However, he does have a match on the 16th Anniversary Show and I’m worried about that. Then again, the match is stacked but Frankie always finds a way. Bullet Club has started to dominate this list with 3 places but hasn’t yet entered the top two positions. I’m surprised that Adam Page didn’t gain a point, but the mainevent did feature 4 fantastic wrestlers with Punishment Martinez just coming short of the top three this week! Considerable: This week’s considerable: The 16th Anniversary Show What’s your favourite moment from the past 16 years? What’s going to happen come Friday? Is there going to be any title changes? If so, what ones? Anyway, that’s been this Week In ROH! Join me on Saturday morning where I review the show and hopefully knock Frankie Kazarian off of the top spot on Star of the Show. by Josh McCrohon @JoshMcCrohon57Time for a cheeky slice of ROH! Let’s get into it.
The Run-Down: Bully Ray starts off the show and says ROH is now all about thriller and not about filler! *Intro* Match #1 - SOCAL Uncensored (Scorpio Sky & Frankie Kazarian) vs. The Young Bucks SOCAL Uncensored are out first with The Young Bucks out next. The Young Bucks take out Kazarian and then take out Sky. The Young Bucks are one of the BEST Tag Teams in Tag Team wrestling today, there is simply no doubt about that! Cody comes out to the stage and applauds, then moves to commentary for some bizarre reason, why not?! Matt Jackson Corkscrew Stunners Sky which looks amazing! He tags in his brother Nick who takes care of Kazarian who, interesting note, was a member of Bullet Club for about a month! Kazarian takes out both Bucks and Slingshot DDTs Nick onto the apron, THERE IS A REASON WHY HE IS CURRENTLY NUMBER ONE ON OUR STAR OF THE SHOW SEGMENT! Sky follows suit and takes out Matt. The Young Bucks both hit individual superkicks on both opponents and then hit a double on Sky. Nick Jackson takes out both members before they hit the 5 Star Meltzer Driver on Scorpio Sky for the win. Match Rating: 8/10 After the match, Daniels attacks the Bucks but Adam Page makes the save. Cody takes a while to get into the ring after he says he’s going. Match #2 - Kenny King (c) vs. Silas Young (ROH Television Championship Match) This is the mainevent, which is strange as ROH episodes usually features 3 matches but it’s fine; this is going to be great! The challenger, Kenny King enters first. Professional wrestling’s last real man is out next. The match is quite even to start off with. Beer City Bruiser & Brian distract Kenny, but the new enforcer Bully Ray kicks them out. Silas Young takes advantage of a distracted King, but King eventually takes control. The match continues to be great as expected and both men are still looking good. Kenny King is having a fantastic match against Young, who is a little tired looking, but Kenny King probably does tire people out a lot. King delivers a great Spinebuster. The pair counter each other’s finishing moves with unique reversals. Kenny King eventually gets a roll-up from out of nowhere for the win! I for one, I didn’t see that coming! Holy crap. Match Rating: 9/10 My Thoughts: Quite ironic how Bully Ray said: “Thriller and no filler” but this episode felt more filler than Thriller... it’s The Rating System from WORST to BEST: Motor Sh***y Machine Guns TK OK Ryan Josh “The Goods” Goods A-Jay-Zing This wasn’t necessarily a BAD show, but if you compare it to the past few months, then you’ll see that this wasn’t up to the standards. This show was still decent and would probably give it more than a 5/10, maybe 6.5! However, this week’s episode gets Josh “The Goods” Goods. Star Of The Show: It’s time for the newest segment of the show, which is Star of the Show; this was last week’s leaderboard: 1st: Frankie Kazarian (3) 2nd: Adam Page (2) 3rd: Jay Lethal (1) In 3rd place and gaining 1 point are The Young Bucks. Yes, they are two people but I refuse to give Matt & Nick their own rankings as, if I’m being brutally honest, I still can’t tell the two apart. You wouldn’t give Jedward their own ranking, would you? Probably not as they’re not wrestlers but it’s the same thing! ANYWAY, the Young Bucks had a great match against SOCAL Uncensored this week and deserve a mention. In 2nd place, gaining 2 points, is Frankie Kazarian. Jesus Christ. The man was first place last week and now he’s getting a further 2 points! I think he put on a better performance than his partner Scorpio Sky, who had a great performance in his own right, but it just wasn’t as good as Kazarian. And finally in first place - which gets a whopping 3 points - is new TV Champion, Kenneth King! Kenny King had a brilliant match in the mainevent against Silas Young for the TV title, a match which I really thought Young would win, but didn’t. Kenny King was the much better wrestler in the match and I’m glad he’s champion again. 1st: Frankie Kazarian (5) 2nd: Kenny King (3) 3rd: Adam Page (2) 4th: The Young Bucks & Jay Lethal (1) We’re 2 weeks in, and look at the leaderboard now! Kazarian climbing the ladder even higher, but I’m 100% sure that Page will overtake King next week as he has a match against Christopher Daniels, which promises to be barnstormer! The show next week is pretty stacked; there’s Marty Scurll & Martinez vs. Castle & Lethal. I’m sure there’s another match but there’s one thing for certain: all the wrestlers are battling for number one on the leaderboard! NB: I’d also like to clarify what happens when individuals who are part of team, fight as individuals and get a point. So let’s say Nick Jackson wrestles as a single next week and gets 2 points, that will be added to the Young Bucks’ ranking. This will be the same for; The Briscoes The Young Bucks The Dawgs Considerable: This week’s considerable is: Kenny King. He has won back the TV title, are you happy with this? Where does he go from here? What was the point in him losing the belt? Josh McCrohon @JoshMcCrohon57Sorry about the delay this week, I am currently moving house and the house hasn’t got wifi so I’m in a café writing this! Priorities. It’s time to kick this week’s episode off with The Run-Down;
The Run-Down: *Intro* Match #1 - Flip Gordon vs. Jay Lethal The two men shake hands before the match begins. Lethal attempts a cutter but Gordon somehow avoids it with his hands? He does a modified kip-up with his hands to dodge the move; he boggles the mind at times! *Adverts* Gordon does a Picture Perfect Dropkick to Lethal who is dazed in the corner, he attempts it again but Lethal swiftly dodges the danger. The match continues to be a flippy one and the two appear to have great chemistry in the ring together. They exchange forearms but quickly move to chops. Gordon does the Samoan Pop followed by a Pele Kick which is weird as he usually does a Running Shooting Star, but you have to mix it up right? He tops it all off by hitting Lethal with the Kinder Suprise. Jay Lethal locks in the Figure Four Leg Lock, but Gordon escapes. They have a good standing sequence and Lethal hits a Dragon Suplex then a Lethal Injection for the win. Match Rating: 7.5/10 After the match, Colt Cabanna announces to Lethal that he will fight Dalton Castle at the 16th Anniversary of ROH Show for the Ring of Honor Championship. Marty Scurll comes out to exclaim that he has never had one title match, Lethal says after he wins the belt, he will give Scurll his title match. Match #2 - Karen Q vs. Brandi Rhodes [Women of Honor Tournament 1st Round Match] Q attacks Brandi before the match begins, but Rhodes quickly gets back in control. Q hits a big kick onto Rhodes who was in the corner. Karen Q heads up to the top ropes and tries a Frog Splash but Brandi rolls out of harms way and follows up with a nice Slingblade. Karen Q locks in a Double Legged Boston crab but Brandi just reaches the ropes and eventually wins with a small package. Match Rating: 6.5/10 Match #3 - SOCAL Uncensored vs. The Hung Bucks (c) [ROH 6-Man Tag Team Championship Match] Adam Page starts the match off with Frankie Kazarian, but it’s not long before Sky & Daniels beat down Page. Kazarian & Page both go down after a double clothesline. Daniels gets tagged in and so does Matt Jackson but Nick comes in aswell and the Young Bucks take down both Daniels & Sky. The match is great and Daniels gets the pin after Nick Jackson gets clobbered with a belt while the referee is occupied. We have new ROH 6-Man Tag Team Champions! Match Rating: 8/10 After the match, Bully Ray comes out and says ROH is lacking Honor. Bully says that the COO phoned him to get some order back into the place. He is now the ROH Enforcer and restarts the match. Match #4 - The Hung Bucks vs. SOCAL Uncensored (c) (ROH 6-Man Tag Team Championship Match] The Hung Bucks hit a Triple Superkick to start the match. The match is very quick and The Young Bucks hit a 5* Meltzer Driver onto Daniels and The Hung Bucks regain their titles. My Thoughts: A solid episode of ROH. You know how we ALWAYS look at the ratings from best to worst? Let’s look at it from WORST to BEST: The Ratings System (Worst-Best) Motor Sh***y Machine Guns TK OK Ryan Josh “The Goods” Goods A-Jay-Zing This week’s episode featured a title match and a title change . That being said, this week’s episode gets a “Josh ‘The Goods’ Good. The Bullet Club’s reign restarted? Who knows?! Star Of The Show: To make up for this review being a little bit delayed, I’m introducing a brand new segment called ‘Star Of The Show’! Each week’s star of the show will recieve 3 points, runner-up will get 2 points and the bronze medal winner recieves a single point; #3: Jay Lethal ~ 1 point Lethal was great in his match against Flip Gordon and racked up an impressive victory over Flip Gordon. #2: Adam Page ~2 points Page is one to more underrated members of Bullet Club along with Tama Tonga. Page delivered one hell of a performance out there and look forward to see what he does in 2018. #1: Frankie Kazarian ~3 points Speaking of underrated, eh? Kazarian was the legal man for a good amount of time in this match and really showed off what he was capable of. 1st: Frankie Kazarian (3) 2nd: Adam Page (2) 3rd: Jay Lethal (1) Considerable: This week’s Considerable is: Do You Think SOCAL Uncensored’s reign should count? Personally, I think it should as they technically did win the match despite it being restarted. Maybe it’s just me! What do you think? This week’s ROH was a good one and next week we see Silas Young defend his TV Championship against ex-Champion, Kenny King! by Josh McCrohon @JoshMcCrohon57The Run-Down: *Intro* Match #1 - Beer City Bruiser & Brian Milonas vs. Coast2Coast The Bruiser & Milonas from now on I’ll going to call “Beer City Brian” just for the sake of writing. Beer City Brian attack Coast2Coast before the match - need I remind you that it was Coast2Coast who defeated War Machine last week! I don’t see Coast2Coast winning this match. Ali gets tagged in and he changes the dynamic in this match but not for long as BCB gains control once more. Coast2Coast hit a great double team on Beer City Bruiser for the 2 count. Silas Young attacks Ali on the outside while Tood Sinclair is distracted. Kenny King makes the save and the bell rings, this is mayhem. This match is now a 6-Man Tag Team match! Young proves why he is champion. LSG is now the legal man with Young. LSG tags out to Ali who gets a 2 count on Young. Ali quickly tags out to Kenny King. King hits a spinning heel kick which knocks Young down. All 3 of the heels are in and they demolish Ali but King hits the Royal Flush onto Young for the win! Match Rating: 6.5/10 The Dawgs are backstage and they’re hating on Coast2Coast. Match #2 - Madison Rayne vs. Mandy Leon [WOH Tournament; Round 1]
They shake hands before the match. They exchange several manoeuvres to kick this match. Madison Rayne gains the advantage before we go to adverts. *Adverts* Rayne hits a neckbreaker but Leon kicks out. They exchange grounded forearms and Leon locks in a clutch. She runs across the apron and kicks Rayne and then cannonballs onto her standing opponent. Leon throws her back in and hits knees off the top rope. She signals a big move but Rayne hits a Rain Check for a 2 count. Mandy Leon hits Natural Rejection for the win and advances to the quarter-finals. Match Rating: 7/10 We see footage from last week when Cody got his ass kicked by Taven and accused The Young Bucks of flying from Winnipeg. We also see footage of Marty Scurll getting over excited about a sign one of the fans made, but The Young Bucks burst his bubble. Poor Marty, even a Villian needs a party. The Briscoes are backstage somewhere and they let everyone know that they only care about making statements from this day on. Match #3 - Punishment Martinez vs. Dalton Castle (c) [ROH Championship] Marty Scurll is on commentary. Castle slaps him and Martinez goes after him but Castle avoids it all, Martinez keeps getting angrier and gets tripped out of the ring. Dalton Suicide Dives onto Martinez before launching him into the ringpost. *Adverts* We return to Castle having Martinez in a waistlock. Martinez hits a spinning big boot which knocks Castle off of the top rope and he falls to the floor. Martinez hits a Last Ride onto the apron which would murder a guy like me to be honest. Castle hits a big German suplex but spooky Martin kicks out. Martinez hits a Super Falcon Aroow and goes for a powerbomb but doesn’t have the strength to lift Castle at this point. Martinez runs and jumps over the top corner onto Castle & The Boys. He then hits a super spinning heel kick but Castle kicks out. Martinez is calling for the end and grabs Castle’s throat. Martinez kicks him in the head and Ripcord kicks him. He lifts him up for the Psycho Driver but Castle rolls Martinez up to retain. Match Rating: 7.8/10 After the match, Martinez takes out The Boys. Next week we will see The Hung Bucks defend their belts against SOCAL Uncensored. My Thoughts Brilliant episode! Dalton Castle’s first defence was a good one and I hope he can hold the belt for a few more months now. Even though Martinez lost, he didn’t look weak, in fact he looked even stronger! Now it’s time to check that rating from WORST to BEST: The Ratings System (Worst-Best) Motor Sh***y Machine Guns TK OK Ryan Josh “The Goods” Goods A-Jay-Zing This week gets a very high: Josh “The Goods” Goods! Considerable: This week’s considerable is a BIG one: Women. Who do you think is going to win the tournament? Do you see Mandy Leon winning it? Who do you want to win it? Are you surprised that Madison Rayne is eliminated? Do you see this being a major part in ROH TV moving forward? I’ve been Josh and this has been an Honor. by Josh McCrohon @JoshMcCrohon57What is up! This is ROH: Honor Reigns Supreme which is airing at midnight for UK audiences…I’ve got to be up for 8 tomorrow morning. Damn. Lets kick things off with the run-down! The Run-Down *Intro* Match #1 - Punishment Martinez vs. Flip GordonSpooky Martin enters first, as creepy as always. His opponent however, is more energetic, which is a weird contrast. Gordon avoids Martinez to start the match with a forward roll. Gordon hits an enziguri and tosses Martinez out of the ring. Martinez throws Gordon into the barricade which slows the high-flyer down somewhat. Gordon tried to go for the Samoan Pop, Martinez counters and Gordon responds with a springboard sling blade. He finally hits the Samoan Pop and follows it up with the running shooting star press. Flip Gordon hits the Kinder Carrara and a 450 splash but Martinez kicks out at 2 and immediately gets up with a twisted smile, he is pissed! Martinez hits the Curb Stomp and hits the South to Heaven Chokeslam. Match Rating: 7.5/10 Match #2 - Shane Taylor vs. Kenny KingCaprice Coleman is on commentary, what a lad! Shane Taylor, the Hitman for Hire, is out first followed by his opponent, former TV champion Kenny King. Taylor pushes King and the match begins. Taylor keeps King in the corner before giving him a left jab. King hits an outside leg kick - this feels like a fight compared to a wrestling match. Taylor tosses King right into the corner. King hits a nice dropkick which takes Taylor to the outside. King dives onto the outside but Taylor dodges it like I dodge responsibility. Taylor tries to roll King into the ring but the latter jumps onto the apron and hits a corkscrew moonsault onto the Hitman for Hire. King gets the win with the Royal Flush. Match Rating: 7.5/10 Match #3 - Josh Goods vs. Silas YoungFormer MMA fighter, Josh Woods is here to fight TV champion Silas Young in a non-title bout. Silas Young has a 13 year wrestling advantage over Woods, who only made his debut in 2015. Woods takes down Young and shows off his mixed martial arts background almost instantly. Hehits a solid punch to Young’s arm before the pair grapple it out. Woods hits an overhead belly to belly which catches Young off guard. Beer City Bruiser manages to get a sneaky/cheeky punch on Woods while the referee had his head turned. Young hits an over the top rope double stomp to the gut of Woods. Josh Woods hasn’t had the most successful ROH career so far it must be said, but a victory tonight could turn it all around. Young locks in a chin lock. Bruiser smashes a bottle over Wood’s head while the referee is checking on Young, Young accidentally jumps on Bruiser. The match intensifies from here on out. The match finishes with Young hitting Misery for the win. Match Rating: 7.8/10 After the match, Kenny King comes out and applauds. Match #4 - SOCAL Uncensored vs. Dalton Castle & The BoysSOCAL Uncensored enter first and Daniels has still got his Generals jacket on. The champion is out next with The Boys. The match starts with Castle & Daniels, who have had plenty of history in years gone by. The match proceeds and the pace quickens. Daniels tags out to Frankie Kazarian, The Boys want in and number 2 comes in. Could be number 1, but for the sake of writing - let’s name him number 2. Kazarian fights number 2 - the commentary team have just said it was number 2 aswell so it’s all good. The match concludes with SOCAL Uncensored picking up the win. Match Rating: 8/10 *INTERMISSION* We return to The Briscoes coming out to talk. They say that they’re going to destroy the fans’ heroes and follow that up by telling the fans to shut their ass up. The Briscoes say that they want their belts back. They call out Alex Shelly for him to come out and gives the Briscoes the titles back. Alex Shelly attacks the two from behind and hits them with the belts. Unfortunately for Shelly, the numbers game is just too much. Jay chokes him out with a chain. Security Guards try and split it up but The Briscoes beat them down. Jay hits the JayDriller to Shelly who is now unconscious. Match #5 - Mandy Leon & Tenille Dashwood vs. Kelly Klein & Stacy ShadowsShadows is legal with Mandy Leon. Leon hits a few chops and a nice kick to the knee but Shadows ultimately takes out Leon. Leon manages to eventually tag out to Tenille Dashwood. Shadows takes down Dashwood with a dropkick, Klein tags herself in. Dashwood hits the Russian leg-sweep after a successful head scissors. Mandy Leon is back in the ring. Klein prevents Leon from tagging out and Stacy Shadows is back in the ring as the legal woman. Dashwood hits an inverted DDT on Shadows but Klein breaks up the pin. Dashwood picks up the win with a dropkick to the side of Stacy’s temple. Match Rating: 7/10 Match #6 - Jonathan Gresham vs. Jay LethalGresham enters first but is quickly overshadowed by the former ROH champion, Jay Lethal. This is going to be good. Can we take a moment to appreciate that The Franchise is wearing BRIGHT yellow boots. The two shake hands and they lock up. Lethal gets Gresham against the corner but The Octopus grabs the wrist of Lethal which prevents Lethal pulling off a cartwheel. The pair keeps switching between mat wrestling and chain wrestling. A very technical match indeed, this is. Gresham hits a chop which is quite loud but Lethal retaliates with a louder one which has to sting the chest of Gresham. Lethal hits his cartwheel dropkick, vintage Lethal! Gresham hits a big kick to Lethal’s left kick which might change the dynamic of this match. Gresham is twisting Lethal’s body now. Gresham is locking in a wrist lock which wrenches the arm of Lethal. You wouldn’t think Lethal is a former ROH TV Champion and a 3 time ROH champion by watching this match right now. Lethal tries to get out of it, but Gresham still has a solid grip on his wrist. Gresham hits a dropkick which knocks Lethal out of the ring. He then runs and hits a penalty kick on Lethal’s left arm. It isn’t long however until Lethal hits a cutter…from out of nowhere. Gresham gets back into the ring at the count of 19. These two are the kings of leg style. It’s just kick after kick after kick and I wouldn’t have it any other way. They exchange forearms and Gresham is now staggering, but manages to hit a snap German. Lethal goes for the Lethal Injection but his shoulder gives up, lovely stuff. Gresham locks in a Cross Face. Lethal goes for a Lethal Injection again but Gresham kicks his arm, quality! Lethal breaks out of the Octopus Hold before he can lock it in. Eventually, Lethal hits the Macho Man Elbow and locks in the Figure 4 Leg Lock. Jonathan Gresham taps out - but does he really lose in the long run? Match Rating: 8.5/10 Match #7 - The Kingdom vs. The Bullet ClubThe Kingdom enter first and they look badass with axes and baseball bats. Adam Page enters first for Bullet Club and is followed by the Villian, Marty Scurll. It is interesting that they’re all entering separately but it’s all good as Bullet Club is “fine”. Cody is finally out next and he is with Brandi Rhodes. The Kingdom threaten Brandi but The Bullet Club come to her aid and the match begins with Vinny Marseglia and Marty Scurll.
Ryan grabs his axe and Scurll gets his umbrella. The referee understandably confiscates the axe. Hangman Page is now legal with TKO Ryan. Page tosses Ryan into the corner and the two brawl. They look similar to an extent. Ryan tags out to Matt Taven, Cody gets in and Taven rolls out. Taven puts on his “Kiss The Ring” T-shirt. Taven gets struck with a Disaster Kick and Scurll dives out onto The Kingdom. I smell an Adam Page moonsault. Cody dives into them and Page hits a moonsault on the outside. Perhaps Bullet Club is fine after all. Adam Page hot tags Marty Scurll and Marseglia comes into it as well. The two have a good fight. Scurll does a superplex onto Marseglia but Taven sneakily tags himself in, unknown to Scurll. Taven tags out to Marseglia and Marty fights all 3. Sadly, for Marty, the party may be over. Taven hits a cutter and Marseglia hits a swanton but Scurll gets his knees up. Scurll hot tags Cody and he takes out Taven. The Bullet Club hits a combo which ends with an Adam Page shooting star press. Cody locks in a leg lock but Taven reaches the ropes. Cody gets Taven in the Shattered Dreams position, but after Cody gets distracted by Marseglia, Taven escapes it. Taven goes back into position as he has a plan. Cody comes running but Taven clobbers him with the fist which has the ring on it. Match Rating: 8.5/10 My Thoughts Quality piece of wrestling. The Run-Down *Intro* Match #1 - Punishment Martinez vs. Dobbs Punishment Martinez is out first, Creepy Martin is looking very creepy tonight! Martinez dominates this match but Dobbs hits a big slap. He follows it with a dropkick but gets big booted after that. Martinez hits a Ripcord Roundhouse and then the South to Heaven chokeslam for the win. Rowe tags to Hanson, and they do a knee tag move. The crowd chant; “War Machine!” Hanson tags back out to Raymond Rowe, Rowe bodyslams Hanson onto Ali. Ali hot tags LSG and he cleans house! He single handily takes out both Rowe & Hanson. He hits a 450 splash onto Rowe but Hanson breaks it up. LSG hits a back suplex onto Hanson which gets the crowd audibly pumped. Rowe attempts a superman punch but LSG ducks and hits the slingout slam. All 4 men are down. *Adverts* We return to War Machine decimating LSG who gets splashed from Hanson from the top rope. Ali gets tagged in and now it’s his time to clear house. He doesn’t last long as Warbeard Hanson takes out both members of Coast2Coast but it’s not too long till Coast2Coast gain control. Ali is the legal man along with Rowe. LSG somehow gets a shoulder up from a brutal finishing move from War Machine. I think it’s time for a double Coast2Coast and that’s what they do! RAYMOND ROWE SOMEHOW KICKS OUT! Shane McMahon is going to be pissed! Hanson hits a spiny heel kick onto Ali. War Machine hits fallout but Ali kicks out! How is this still going on?! Rowe puts Ali in the body slam position but Ali rolls him up and LSG takes out Hanson. Match Rating: 8.5/10 The two teams shake hands after the match. Bully Ray is out next. He says “Final Battle was my final battle”. He says he had a good career. He says he was born in New York but as a wrestler, he was born in Philadelphia. He says this is the arena, he should leave his boots in. Bully Ray says it’s his Honor. Jay Lethal comes down clapping and so do the rest of the roster and they surround the ring. Lethal gets in the ring and says “Bubba, I’ve known you for a long time and if this is the last time, I’ve got to get something off my chest”. He says that they had his guard up when he came into ROH but the roster didn’t need to. Lethal goes on about how good Bully Ray is at helping out. He calls Bully a legend. He’s not wrong! Match #3 - The Bullet Club vs. SOCAL Uncensored SOCAL Uncensored are out first. Cody, Marty Scurll & Adam Page are out next. Scorpio Sky is in first with Marty Scurll. Sky does a good double stomp onto a bent over Scurll. Scurll jumps on Sky’s fingers and hits an enziguiri. Christopher Daniels is in as Sky tags out. Cody is in as well. Taven is on commentary. Cody taunts but Frankie Kazarian cheap shots Cody and Adam Page & Kazarian brawl. The two take their brawl out onto the outside. Daniels & Cody are still fighting in the ring but they end up going out soon as well. Cody runs and dives onto the outside. I smell an Adam Page moonsault coming up shortly. Maybe not as Cody, Page, Daniels & Kazarian get back into the ring. They do the Bullet Club train and as always, Scurll doesn’t get the hang of it. *Adverts* We return to Kazarian & Cody, with Cody in SOCAL Uncensored’s corner. Cody quickly escapes and powerslams Kazarian. Cody hotags Page, and Kazarian hot-tags Sky. Page gets the advantage and dives onto Daniels on the outside. Page tosses Daniel into several barricades and the Hangman takes out all 3 men. He hits a powerbomb on Scorpio. Cody and Scurll hit a Doomsday Devicd kind of thing on Sky, Scurll calls for the Chicken Wing but Daniels breaks it up. Scurll goes to snap Daniels’ fingers but Daniels rakes the eyes. Page hits a nasty looking moonsault onto Sky on the outside. SOCAL Uncensored then hits 3 massive moves onto Page for the win! Match Rating: 9/10 My Thoughts Great episode! SOCAL Uncensored looked instantly ready for the mainevent which is always good for a trio. It looks like we’re leaning towards a feud with Castle/Martinez which is great but I hope it doesn’t last till Supercard Of Honor which I’m 99% sure it won’t. I think this is going to be a feud which ends on a regular episode, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing at all. It was fantastic to see War Machine in presumably their last televised ROH match. Do you know what would be original? To check out our ratings…from WORST to BEST! The Ratings System (Worst-Best) Motor Sh***y Machine Guns TK OK Ryan Josh “The Goods” Goods A-Jay-Zing This week’s episode gets an A-Jay-Zing! It was a quality episode from start to finish. The Bully Ray segment was really well done, the matches were great aswell. All in all, fantastic show. Considerable This week’s considerable is: Supercard Of Honor XII As of writing there is only one match confirmed for the show; Cody Vs. Kenny Omega. Oh my God! What matches would you like to see? What matches do you think are going to happen? Do you see any returns? Will there be any title changes? What is the landscape of ROH going to be like when we approach April 7th? It’s going to be interesting, Honor Club. That’s all we have time for on This Week in Ring Of Honor! by Josh McCrohon @JoshMcCrohon57It is time for This Week In Ring Of Honor. Are you ready to see what happened in the most underrated company in the world? Then let’s start things off with “The Run-Down”.
The Run-Down: The show starts off with a video from last week when ROH went off the air. The Kingdom beat down Dalton Castle & The Boys. Matt Taven says he’s the next ROH Champion. *Intro* Match #1 - The Dawgs vs. Motor City Machine Guns (c) [Ring of Honor Tag Team Championship Match] The Dawgs enter first for their title match. Motor City Machine Guns enter next in a match which should be great to watch. Alex Shelly starts things off with Will Ferrera. Both of the MCMG boys take out The Dawgs. *Adverts* We return to The Dawgs who are in control. Shelly hits a back suplex onto Ferrera and tries a hot tag to Sabin but Titus takes him out. It’s not that long until Sabin actually does get tagged in and takes out both of The Dawgs. MCMG hit the Dream Sequence and hit Ferrera with the Cattle Driver for the win. After the match, The Briscoes talk on the stage basically saying that The Motor City Machine Guns should enjoy their title run while they can. Match Rating: 8.3/10 SoCal Uncensored are backstage and they pay Shane Taylor to ensure The Bullet Club doesn’t get involved tonight. Match #2 - Josh “The Goods” Woods vs. Jonathon Gresham Josh Goods is out first, Gresham out second. Fun Fact: We have a Rating named after Josh Woods. “Josh ‘The Goods’ Goods” check it out at the end of the review! Woods takes down Gresham and takes him down for the second time but this time Gresham kicks Woods in the face and gets back to his feet. Gresham then proceeds to take out Woods’ left leg and does so for a good while. *Adverts* They are now on the outside as Gresham slingshots himself onto Woods. Gresham gets Woods back in the ring and gets on the apron. Gresham goes for a springboard but Woods hits him with a knee in midair which looked amazing! Since that move, Woods has been in control but Gresham quickly gains the advantage and rolls him up exactly the same way as the Final Battle pre-show and Gresham gets the win! Match Rating: 7.6/10 Coleman’s Pulpit: Coast2Coast Coleman says that Coast2Coast will battle War Machine next week on ROH. Cody is here for the first time since his career changing loss to Dalton Castle at Final Battle. Cody says Castle was the better man but he WILL get his rematch and even though he doesn’t have the title, he still has the ring. The Kingdom come out and Matt Taven just rips into Cody. Cody says that his blonde hair got a bigger pop at Final Battle than Taven will ever receive. He also offers Taven to kiss the ring which he does before kicking Cody in the groin. Match #3 - The Best Friends vs. The Young Bucks vs. Dragon Lee & Titan The match starts with Titan & Chucky T exchanging chops. The pair do some really good moves like a midair dropkick. Chucky tags out to Baretta. Nick Jackson tags in and he’s the legal man along with Dragon Lee who both provide some quality wrestling. Dragon Lee and Titan then do some great Tag Team manoeuvres. The Young Bucks show off their incredible skills aswell, diving onto The Best Friends. Dragon Lee then dives onto everybody else and then Titan springboard moonsaults onto everybody. Chucky T hypes the crowd and bounces off the ropes (teasing a dive) but then runs into a hug from Barreta, classic! The Young Bucks lock in a double “cease” onto both of The Best Friends. *Adverts* Dragon Lee hits a double stomp onto Nick. The Best Friends do their Lanwdart Cutter but only for a 2 count. The match only gets crazier from here and eventually The Young Bucks win with a Meltzer driver. After the match, SoCal Uncensored attack The Bucks but Adam Page makes the save. Match Rating: 8.5/10 My Thoughts It was a great episode of ROH this week. A lot of good story telling and a lot of good wrestling. But, let’s take a look at the ratings FROM WORST TO BEST: The Ratings System (Worst-Best) Motor Sh***y Machine Guns TK OK Ryan Josh “The Goods” Goods A-Jay-Zing This week gets a very high Josh “The Goods” Goods Considerable So…you may be wondering what a considerable is. I’ll tell you. A considerable is something I give you something to consider and you have to consider that considerable throughout the week, so without further ado, this week’s considerable is: SoCal Uncensored! What is next for these 3 men? Do you see them becoming champions? Do you see Scorpio Sky turning on them? Do you think The Addiction is better off without Sky? Do you think Sky is better off without The Addiction? That’s all for This Week In Ring Of Honor, a pretty hectic episode! Anyway I’m going to go and this, has been an honour! by Josh McCrohon @JoshMcCrohon57What is up Ladies and Gentlemen? Welcome to another episode of This Week In Ring Of Honor and I am buzzing for this one. Tonight we see Jay Lethal fight Will Ospreay but the mainevent, we have Dalton Castle & The Boys taking on The Kingdom. Let’s start things off as always with:
The Run-Down *Intro* Match #1 - Will Ospreay vs. Jay Lethal Well, it looks like we’re kicking off the show with this! Osperay enters first followed by former ROH champion, Jay Lethal. The two shake hands and the match begins. These two are among the best in the world so this should be fantastic. Quality chain wrestling between the pair and Lethal takes Ospreay down. Lethal is on the outside and Ospreay teases a dive, does a handspring but Lethal pulls Ospreay to the outside, brilliant stuff! Lethal takes his turn and dives onto Will, then does does another. He finally hits his third dive. Marty Scurll comes out from the crowd clapping. Why is he here? *Adverts* Scurll has joined commentary. The match continues to be great. Ospreay hits several chops to Lethal in the corner. Osperay bodyscissors Lethal to the outside and dives onto him. The Oscutter gets countered, the Lethal Injection gets reversed and it all just gets out of hand. Osperay hits a hurricarana from the top rope and slams Lethal down for a 2 count. Lethal goes to the top rope and calls for the Macho Man Elbow Drop but Ospreay and counters. Lethal goes for the Figure 4 Leg Lock but Ospreay rolls him up into an inside package for a 2 count. He drives Ospreay with a Lethal combination. Ospreay goes for the Oscutter but gets hit with a midair cutter from Lethal, who then hits the Lethal Injection for the win. After the match, they shake hands and Scurll leaves without doing anything even remotely villainy! Match Rating: 8.2/10 Coleman’s Pulpit: Jonathon Gresham He’s here with Jonathon Gresham who is in a tall chair. There’s another “Honor Club” advert which they say is more than a network so I’m hoping they’re having their own archive site like New Japan World or like the WWE Network. Match #2 - Kenny King vs. Brian Milonas Kenny King is in action. Milonas is already in the ring. King shows off what he cando and that man can do a lot. He dives over the rope onto Milonas and takes a picture with an audience member. The match is quite good but King wins with a blockbuster with a twist. Kenny says that Brian should be proud of himself and calls Silas Young a piece of crap. Professional Wrestling’s Last Real Man comes out and the two brawl. Young gets hit with a spinning heel kick and leaves without his belt which is in the ring. King gets backstabbed by Brian and it all makes sense now! Match Rating: 7/10 The Addiction & Scorpio Sky are in the ring. Daniels say that the trio is named “SoCal uncensored”. The COO comes out and says that he should fire The Addiction, but instead says that the pair only have one year left and they had better make the most of it. Match #3 - The Kingdom vs. Dalton Castle & The Boys The Kingdom enter first. The champ & The Boys are out next. Fun fact: Both teams in this match are former 6 Man Tag Team champions! The match starts off with fast paced action. Boy (Number 2) gets tagged in and Taven soon gets in aswell. Taven & Castle are in the ring together at this point in the match. Taven delivers several loud chops to Castle and Irish whips him into the corner but Castle jumps on one of the boys and hits a cross body. The match progresses and TKO Ryan is in. Dalton gets tagged in and elbows everything in sight. Taven & Castle both attempt tombstones but they keep reversing with Castle eventually hitting it. Castle taps Ryan out for the win. Match Rating: 7.8/10 My Thoughts Great episode this! I’m curious about the whole Marty Scurll thing which is going on right now, but I’m looking forward to next week as Motor City Machine Guns defend their titles against the Dawgs. Lethal/Osperay had a really good match. I like SoCal Uncensored and where they are headed but let’s take a cheeky look at the ratings for this week from WORST to BEST: The Ratings System (Worst-Best) Motor Sh***y Machine Guns TK OK Ryan Josh “The Goods” Goods A-Jay-Zing This was a great show from start to finish so that’s why this week receives: Josh “The Goods” Goods. Remember last week how I said I’d book the next PPV? Well that is officially in production and should be finished by Friday! Considerable Considerable, what is it? A considerable is something I give YOU to consider and then give you a s**tload of questions relating to that subject, ready? Here we go. This week’s considerable is Beer City Bruiser & Brian. Where do you think they’ll go? Do you see them being successful? Do you think they’ll team with Silas and become 6 Man Tag Team Champions? Did you see him being the partner? Can Beer City Brian win the gold? Find out next week on ROH. I’ve been Josh and I’m off to write UFC 220 predictions now, see you next time. by Josh McCrohon @JoshMcCrohon57Welcome to the first Ring Of Honor of 2018 and this year is going to be brilliant. Why? Because it’s Ring Of Honor! So let’s get it started with the Run Down!
The Run-Down *Intro* The new Ring of Honor Champion, Dalton Castle, comes out but not alone, as he’s joined by The Boys. He says that it just “feels right” with the belt. He talks about proving people wrong and then Jay Lethal interrupts him after his successful win over Marty Scurll at Final Battle. Castle is confused as to why Lethal is out here as they never talk and Lethal hasn’t even sent him a friend request on Facebook. Lethal congratulates him and says he wants a shot. Castle takes a seat on one of the boys and invites Lethal to do the same. Lethal reluctantly does so but quickly and tells Dalton to put him on top of the list. Castle says it’s a deal. Lethal leaves and Castle says the belt is for the boys but then out of nowhere Punishment Martinez attacks Castle and holds up the belt. What a turn of events! *Adverts* Match #1 - Simon Grimm vs. Silas Young [Ring of Honor TV Championship Match] Simon Grimm comes out to make his ROH TV debut and will fight the new TV champion, Silas Young, in a title match. They exchange and show off their skills. Grimm is looking good so far but Young hits a beauty of a knee which Grimm sells perfectly. Quality uppercuts from Grimm and he hits a nice butterfly suplex and applies a bridge but Young kicks out at 2. Silas Young hits Misery for the 3 count in a relatively short title match. Match Rating: 7.3/10 After the match, the former champion Kenny King comes out with mic in one hand and beer bottle in the other. They exchange words and King brings up something which turns the tables: He’s spoken to the Championship Committee! King then proceeds to spit out beer onto Young and the two brawl before getting split up. Match #2 - The Briscoes vs. Eli Isom & Ryan Nova The Briscoes come out for a Tag Team match, Eli Isom & Ryan Nova are already in the ring. The Briscoes attack them both during the recap from Final Battle, they dominate the match. Mark Briscoe hits a top rope elbow to end this squash match. Match Rating: 5.2/10 After the match, the Briscoes brag about ending Bully Ray’s career and put the entire Tag Division on notice. The Hung Bucks are in a backstage segment and they say that they’ll give The Addiction & Scorpio Sky a title shot. Match #3 - Flip Gordon vs. Marty Scurll Flip Gordon is out for the mainevent against Marty Scurll. They lock up and Marty does flips of his own to escape a wrist lock. Gordon teases a dive but a Scurll is already in the crowd. *Adverts* We return to fast action which Scurll slows down with a corner suplex. Scurll hits a sore-looking backstabber and pushes Todd Sinclair. Never piss off Todd. Todd responds with a shove and Scurll lands on his arse! Gordon takes advantage and does his handstand taunt but Scurll superkicks Gordon’s chin for a 2 count, before Scurll once again threatens Todd. Scurll & Gordon exchange stiff forearms and the pair go down. Gordon hits a nice looking springboard clothesline and then hits a springboard springblade. Scurll hits his apron superkick spot. He throws Gordon back into the ring and calls for the chicken wing but doesn’t get it. Scurll hits Gordon with the Ghostbuster for a dramatic near fall which the commentator says “2 and 9 tenths!” but I thought he said “2 and my tits!” but I think what he said made more sense after I rewound it. Gordon hits a suicide dive followed by a swanton over the top ropes. Flip hits the 450 splash which Scurll somehow kicks out of. Gordon attempts a Kinder Suprise but almost gets caught in a Chicken Wing. Flip hits the Kinder Suprise for the 2 count. Scurll hits the 2nd Ghostbuster for the victory. Match Rating: 8.3/10 My Thoughts That was the first episode of 2018 and first episode following a great PPV. I’d also like to point out that I write a lot for the Run-Down and will start writing more for these 2 sections! I like where the direction the ROH Championship picture is heading despite not really knowing where it’s going but I’m definitely intrigued and I think that’s always a positive thing to look for in a wrestling company. So who will get the match against Castle? Lethal or Martinez? I don’t genuinley don’t know. Simon Grimm interested me and I hope he’s gets a proper feud and highlighted more often, I’d like to see him in a short feud with someone like Osperay or Flip Gordon. Tag division time and boy, is it heating up? There’s too many teams who could fight The Motor City Machine Guns; The Addiction, The Briscoes, The Young Bucks, The Best Friends and even War Machine if they aren’t headed to Orlando. I understand that The Young Bucks are occupied and The Best Friends literally just feuded with MCMG and The Addiction is looking for the 6 Man Tag belts but the Briscoes? The Briscoes are looking for those belts and I’d like to see them as the next champs. Flip Gordon & Marty Scurll are just class. I don’t know where these men go and I don’t know if this rivalry is over as of yet. What I’d book for the next PPV is simple: Cody vs. Flip Gordon & Marty Scurll vs. Dalton Castle vs. Jay Lethal and if Martinez wants in, let’s chuck him in aswell! Let’s have a peak at the ratings shall we….from worst to best: The Ratings System (Worst-Best) Motor Sh***y Machine Guns TK OK Ryan Josh “The Goods” Goods A-Jay-Zing This week’s show was a good follow up to Final Battle and is leading to fresh things to kick off the new year so that’s always a good thing, this week’s episode is: Josh “The Goods” Goods. Considerable This is the Considerable, where I give you something to consider and you consider that considerable and I consider your considerable and it’s as simple as that so next time, consider that! This week’s considerable is: Next Steps. Where does ROH go from here? What new matches will we see next? WHAT IS THE HONOR CLUB I KEEP SEEING IN THE ADVERTS?! Will Osperay vs. Lethal be any good next week? Who will fight Dalton Castle? Will Cody get his title rematch? I'd also like to say that hopefully in the next few days, there will be a Booking of the next ROH PPV, booked by me! How cool is that?! That’s what happened this week In Ring Of Honor, I’ve been Josh and I’ve been honoured. by Josh McCrohon @JoshMcCrohon57Hello! Welcome to the show after Final Battle, it is indeed Ring of Honor Ladies and Gentlemen. It’s less than week until Christmas so let’s get this underway with The Run-Down
The Run-Down *Intro* Match #1 - The Addiction vs. Coast To Coast The Addiction enter first and are followed by Coast To Coast. Coast To Coast hit a double drop kick onto The Addiction and the match begins. Kazarian hits 4 chops in the corner. Kazarian then hits a springboard DDT onto LSG. The Addiction continue to dominate Coast To Coast as we go to the adverts. *Adverts* We return to a 2 count from Kazarian. This match is good so far and highlights The Addiction which is exactly what they need after a loss from War Machine at Final Battle. Ali attempts a hot tag to LSG but Daniels stops it, Ali reverses it and tags in LSG who initiates some fast paced action. Coast To Coast get the advantage for a little bit but LSG is outnumbered by The Addiction who hit the best Meltzer Driver ever for the win. LSG picks up a mic after the match and says that they’ve been here for a year and haven’t accomplished anything. Ali grabs the mic off LSG and says that they have to win and if they don’t they shouldn’t be doing this (referring to wrestling). Match Rating: 7.7/10 Match #2 - Eli Isom vs. Shane Taylor Isom is already in the ring as Taylor makes his way down. They shake hands before the match before locking up a few times. Isom relievers a chop but that doesn’t effect Taylor who throws him into the corner and chops him all the way to A&E! He then tosses Isom into the centre of the ring and splashes Isom in the corner. Taylor wins due to referee stoppage which is very rare. Match Rating: 4.3/10 Coleman’s Pulpit time and his guest is none other than Brandi Rhodes. Match #3 - The Best Friends & Rocky Romero vs. Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks The Best Friends are out first with Romero. Not seen much of Romero in recent weeks, so a win tonight would change a lot for him. Unfortunately for him however, I don’t see that happening. The Elite enter next as we go to adverts. *Adverts* Romero starts off the match with Jackson who gets a loud punch after he spat on Romero. Romero gets his Sliced Bread reversed into a tombstone position but Romero escapes. Omega extends his hand for the tag and Jackson tags in The Cleaner whilst Romero tags in Taylor. They shake hands until Baretta cheap shots Omega. Omega goes for the One Winged Angel on Taylor but that gets reversed. The Elite are in control and they hit a triple suicide dive. Omega tags in Matt. He gets hit with a boot into a dragon suplex combination which looked sore. *Adverts* We return to Taylor and Matt. Taylor hits a body slam. Baretta hypes up the crowd and jumps over the top rope and hits an anti-climax stomp and The Best Friends hug as that’s their trademark taunt. The Young Bucks hit great flippy moves which never gets old. Nick attempts a swanton but lands on Baretta’s knees which I can’t imagine being the softest landing. It’s good move central about this time in the match. Chucky T hits a great looking double stomp and a dive onto the outside landing on both of The Young Bucks. Baretta hits a neck-killer of a piledriver to Omega who bounced back up. The Best Friends hug on the outside but the Young Bucks superkick them both. It’s been a great match. In the end, The Elite pick up the win! Match Rating: 8.4/10 Worst-Best (The Ratings System) Motor Sh***y Machine Guns TK OK Ryan Josh “The Goods” Goods A-Jay-Zing This week’s episode didn’t feel that it was the follow up to Final Battle. In fact, I feel like Final Battle wasn’t even mentioned which is a bit unfortunate as I was really looking forward to see what’s next but I didn’t get to see anything of what ROH are leading to in the new year. However, the commentators kept saying throughout that there’s a Christmas surprise next week so I’m excited for that. This week’s episode gets a “Josh ‘The Goods’ Good”. Considerable: This is the segment where I give you something to consider. This week’s considerable: The 6 Man Tag Team titles. Who’s next to challenge the Hung Bucks? Scorpio Sky & The Addiction? Romero & The Best Friends? Coast To Coast & Flip Gordon? I don’t know. Do you? That’s been this week’s edition of This Week In Ring Of Honor. I’ll be back next week to review Boxing Day’s episode. Have a nice Christmas and if you celebrate Hanukkah, I hope you enjoyed it! |
