by Josh McCrohon @JoshMcCrohon57Hello! Are you ready for Ring Of Honor’s 8th and final PPV of the year? I bet you are! I’m watching it the day after on the Saturday because I was tired last night, so let’s get ready for the review. Buckle up it’s the run-down:
The Run-Down *Opening Package* I am pumped for this! by Josh McCrohon @JoshMcCrohon57It’s go home show time! What a time to be alive, eh? This is the final show before Final Battle 2017 which is this Friday and which I’ll be reviewing just like I’ll review this week’s edition of Ring of Honor, so let’s start things as always with The Run-Down:
The Run-Down *Intro* Match #1 - Caprice Coleman vs. Kenny King (ROH TV Championship) Caprice Coleman comes out for his title match against Kenny King and is being joined by Shane Taylor. The crowd pumper is out next, the champion Kenny King. Fast paced action to start this match, Silas Young is out on commentary. *Adverts* As we return, King has the advantage but that quickly changes as Coleman targets King’s arm and crashes it into the post. Coleman is really impressive on the outside and shows everybody how good he actually is. He looks at the camera and says “I think I killed Kenny”. That line just shows how much of a lad Coleman actually is. King looks to be in trouble. Coleman tries a hurricarana from the top rope to Kenny King but the latter slides off but Coleman looks like he just hit a moonsault variation. Coleman hits the Holy Spirit but King manages to kick out at 2. Shane Taylor gets involved but King knocks him off the aparon and springboard jumps onto him. King picks up the win with the Royal Flush. Taylor, Young & Martinez attack King before all attacking each other. Match Rating: 7.9/10 *Adverts* The Addiction come out and call for silence. They demand that both members of War Machine be fired for accidentally striking a fan. Instead, War Machine attack them both. Well I say War Machine, I mean Hanson. Rowe isn’t here as he is suspended. Hanson takes them both out and he unloads on Daniels until Kazarian strikes him with a chair to the back. They tape Hanson to the ropes. Daniels cuts a bit of Hanson’s beard off and threatens to cut his ear off but, unsurprisingly, he gets stopped by security, who The Addiction then also beats up! Hanson eventually gets free and he unloads on both men. The Briscoes come out and ask the crowd if they knew who they were. They want Bully Ray, but they say they can’t have him. They say he is worse than a coward and actually he’s something else which I cannot say. The reason I cannot say it is because it got censored and I don’t actually know what he said, but we could guess what it is. Bully Ray & Tommy Dreamer come down. Security make their grand return and hold them back. The CEO of ROH says that they’re going to get what they want….at Final Battle and it’s going to be hardcore. Bully & Tommy run in and brawl with The Briscoes but get split up. Match #2 - Jay Lethal Vs. Matt Taven This is going to be good. Matt Taven comes out with the rest of The Kingdom. Marty Scurll is out on commentary as a special guest. Lethal comes out next to a warm reception from the Ring of Honor faithful. He throws a few punches to start and Taven rolls out but Lethal follows him and practically practically throws him into the crowd. Lethal goes for the Figure Four Leg Lock, but Taven changes it into a small package. It’s only a 2 count and Lethal hits a brilliant clothesline. He soon follows it up with a suicide dive. After that though, Taven has most of the advantage for the next couple of minutes. Lethal hits the Macho Man Elbow Drop for the 2 count. Scurll says that he’s getting a better look and leaves the commentary booth. He slides the umbrella into the ring, after which Matt Taven rolls Lethal up for the 3 count! Match Rating: 7.9/10 As we return from the joys of advertisements, we see the World Champion Cody in the ring. He has sunglasses and a big fur coat, it is winter season after all! He is joined by several men in suits, one has a tray of champagne and he has his wife Brandi sitting down. Dalton Castle comes out next. Castle says Cody looks ridiculous and says that Cody is overdressed, overpaid and overrated. This angered Cody. Castle signs the contract and passes it to Cody. Cody signs it and they have a stare off to close the show. My Thoughts Good go-home show. The episode developed most of the stories going into the PPV which is always a good thing. So let’s look at the ratings; Worst-Best (The Ratings System) Motor Sh***y Machine Guns Ring Of Horror TK OK Ryan Josh Goods A-Jay-Zing This week gets a Josh Goods; It wasn’t as good as previous weeks but that doesn’t mean the product was terrible, it was a great show, it just wasn’t amazing. Considerable This week’s considerable is Final Battle 2017? What match are you looking forward to the most? Who do you think will win? Who do you want to win? What happens after it? I’m buzzing for it. Join me later this week as I write the article “ROH: Final Battle. My Thoughts, My Predictions” but until then consider your considerable. I’ve been Josh and that was an Honor…a Ring Of Honor! See you next time by Josh McCrohonHello there! I’m Josh and I watch Ring Of Honor! Cool.
This is the go home show, the go home show for Final Battle 2017 and I’m sure it’s going to be a good one. For the past 2 weeks Ring Of Honor has received the highest rating possible: A-Jay-Zing. Will the streak come to an end tonight? Let’s find out as we start with the Run Down. The Run-Down *Intro* Match #1 - The Beer City Bruiser vs. Marty Scurll The Beer City Bruiser kicks this off with his infamous trash can. It is advertised that tonight we’ll see Adam Page vs. Flip Gordon as well as The Kingdom vs. Motor City Machine Guns for the ROH Tag Team Championships. Marty Scurll is out next and the Bruiser pushes him down off the bat. After getting pushed down for the third time, Scurll rolls out of the ring and kicks the barricade which funnily enough is the most offence he has had up to this point. Scurll hits a superkick to the belly which looks really nasty to receive. He rolls Bruiser into a creative finger stomp. They exchange strikes on the outside, mainly just chops. When Scurll is placed on the chair on the outside, Bruiser runs and attempts a sideways senton but Scurll moves and Bruiser pushes the barricade half a metre backwards. *Adverts* The show returns with Bruiser delivering a devastating right hook to Marty. He goes for a frog splash but Scurll dodges it. Jay Lethal comes out to watch the match from the stage like a wrestler out of the 2K series but Scurll doesn’t act like he is bothered as he continues his offence. Bruiser was looking to crush Scurll from the 2nd rope but Scurll gets between his legs and hits a slick powerbomb. He gets the 3 count but his legs are on the ropes to help him try and steal the victory so the match continues. Scurll argues with the referee and that’s when Bruiser pushes Scurll to the ground once more. Scurll is on the outside and Bruiser is on the aparon and he runs along and tries a cannonball onto a standing Marty but he moves out of the way and Bruiser takes a nasty bump. Scurll tries to pick Bruiser up but realises that the count is too late so he gets back into the ring at the count of 18. Bruiser gets in at 19 and the match continues. Scurll calls for the Chicken Wing and jumps onto Bruiser’s back but the brute flips him over and tries to squash Marty into the corner but crushes the referee instead. Scurll picks up his main man: The Umbrella. Lethal starts making his way down, however he ends up stopping. Marty clunks the Umbrella off Bruiser’s head so hard it might have even given me a concussion just watching it! Scurll gets the 3 count. Match Rating: 8/10 *Adverts* We come back to The Briscoes going into the 3D wrestling school I believe - but there’s something I can’t believe: the b*****ds attacked Tony! Several picture smashings later, the Briscoes explore a bit more, then the f***ers 3D’ed Tony! Colemans Pulpit now. This week’s guest was himself...yeah that’s right... Match #2- Motor City Machine Guns (c) vs. The Kingdom (ROH Tag Team Championships) The Kingdom attacks Machine Guns before the match begins and attempt a double team, but Machine Guns reverse, then The Kingdom reverse that, finally MCMG hit the move before a mass brawl on the outside. MCMG just do lovely moves, what a team! Shelly & Sabin lock in figure 4 leg locks onto both members of The Kingdom, but they reach the ropes. After a while, The Kingdom gets the advantage and oh boy does lovely wrestling happen or what? We go to the ad break as The Kingdom pose with the Tag belts above their heads. *Adverts* As we return, MCMG have regained the upper hand. Chris Sabin gets hit with a cutter and a Swanton which he magically kicks out of at 2 somehow. Kingdom then hit a really nice double Death Valley Driver variation before Alex Shelly breaks the count up at 2. The Kingdom then attempt to introduce the axe and a bat to the fray. The referee successfully confiscates the axe but Ryan attempt to use the bat, only for Sabin to move, and for the bat to clock Marseglia between the eyes! After a fantastic ‘sequence’ of moves by MCMG, they retain their Tag belts and they can now look ahead to Final Battle where they battle it out with the Best Friends. Match Rating: 8/10 Match #3 - Adam ‘Hangman’ Page vs. Flip Gordon Mainevent time and one third of the ROH 6 Man Tag Team champions, Adam Page makes his entrance. Flip Gordon is out next and Page pushes him back on entrance but Gordon does a backwards hand spring? Maybe? This lad is talented! The kip up spot returns and it still looks amazing and makes me tired! Hangman throws Gordon out of the ring over the top rope. Oh dear, it’s happening again…last week when I did the mainevent I couldn’t keep up. To keep this short, they try and hit each other with flips but they keep avoiding it. Gordon does a one-handed cartwheel on the apron and superkicks Page (who is on the outside). He goes to the top rope and hits a gorgeous moonsault. Gordon jumps into the ring and recovers from big boot from Page. Adam uses a chair as a launchpad to drop kick Gordon who got placed upside down from the top rope. It’s better than it sounds, trust me. *Adverts* As the programming returns to our eyes, we see Page hit a Fallaway Slam. The moves they do is incredible: a moonsault from the top onto the outside onto Gordon will never get old. A Samoan Drop to Page followed by a brutal Pele Kick followed by a Springboard Twisted Stunner finally gets Gordon the win. We come back from the replay to see the Young Bucks, Matt is in a referee shirt and grabs Gordon’s arm, proceeding to ask him where he thinks he’s going. Match Rating: 8.6/10 My Thoughts Wow. What an episode! So, considering I’m writing this edition on a Thursday at 10pm (you know, the day it’s meant to be released on!) let’s hurry up with the ratings, shall we! Worst-Best (The Ratings System) Motor Sh***y Machine Guns TK OK Ryan Josh Goods A-Jay-Zing For the third week in a row: A-Jay-Zing. Well done Ring Of Honor, well done. Considerable It’s time to consider people! This week’s considerable: Flip Gordon. Where does he go from here? From the looks of it, he’s competing for the 6 Man Tag belts. Who are going to be his partners? Who would you like to see partner with him? Who do you think? Sound off below! I’ve been late and I’ll see you next week…..if I’ve not been fired first! by Josh McCrohonHello! Welcome to another week In Ring Of Honor but with a twist! It’s on a Thursday this time…damn I’ll really need to decide what day this goes out on, it’s getting later each time. Ring Of Honor, let’s review it but before we do, let’s run it down with the run down:
The Run-Down Kenny King is on commentary, Silas Young enters as he is in action to start the show. Jon Gresham enters next. This match is another one of those qualifying matches for the fatal 4 way corners match at Final Battle for the ROH TV championship. So far confirmed in the title bout: Punishment Martinez, Shane Taylor and of course the current ROH TV champion Kenny King. Match #1 - Silas Young vs. Jon Gresham The match kicks off with a few arm holds. The Beer City Bruiser distracts Gresham and Young hits a shoulder tackle but the offence on his side doesn’t last long as Gresham quickly gains the advantage. Silas goes for a handshake and Gresham shakes until Young goes for a kick which Gresham catches and rolls him up. They bounce off different pairs of ropes and Young ties him up? Young’s foot gets caught and Gresham gently puts it down only to lift it back up 6 seconds later. He gets the crowd involved and then drops Young back down. *Adverts* Gresham reverses a suplex and hits a corner boot. He goes for a tornado DDT but lands on his feet and hits a suplex. Gresham goes top rope and hits a nice looking cross body before punting Young in the head. Young hits a nice combo. Gresham locks in the octopus hold. Bruiser then throws in a barrel, and while the referee goes and throws it out and that’s where Bruiser assaults Gresham which doesn’t help Young in the slightest. Gresham hits a nice springboard moonsault onto Young and a suicide dive onto Bruiser. Gresham goes for another cross body but misses and then Young wins with the misery. Match Rating: 7.5/10 *Adverts* Match #2 - War Machine & The Addiction War Machine is out here for Tag Team action. The Addiction attacks them during the entrance but War Machine quickly gains control. The Addiction tries and gets advantage but that doesn’t exactly go to plan. One half of War Machine lawn darts Kazarian into a woman in the audience and she is busted open. This actually makes me wonder if this was indeed planned or if this was actually real... my head says it was planned. Match #3 - Flip Gordon, Scorpio Sky & Coast 2 Coast vs. Marty Scurll, Hangman Page & The Young Bucks Main Event time folks, but more importantly it’s Jay Lethal time! He is only on commentary though. Flip Gordon is here though leading his squad; Scorpio Sky & Coast 2 Coast. Bullet Club is out next to a great reaction from the crowd. It’s Marty Scurll & The 6 Man Tag Team champions, The Hung Bucks. Cody makes a surprise appearance by embracing The Bullet Club and cuts a short promo on Flip Gordon and his boys. *Adverts* The match kicks off with fast paced action - Cody gets evicted pretty much right away. Matt Jackson tags in and soon after that and Sky also tags in. They have great moves together and Matt tags in his brother, Nick. Sky tags out to Flip Gordon. Gordon does his show-off handstand taunt but Jackson dropkicks his torso. Nick gets in some great offence. Flip Gordon and Nick attempt a lot of moonsaults where they land on their feet before Jackson goes for a super kick which Gordon ducks by doing a kip-up - God, wrestling’s good - it keeps happening but Nick gets annoyed! *Adverts* The show comes back with another handshake attempted. Nick rolls out but that’s where Matt comes in and grabs Gordon’s wrist and says into the mic “Where do you think you’re going?”. Gordon can’t reach his partners and Marty helps keep Gordon away from his side. Marty snaps Gordon’s finger whilst Matt says into the mic “Welcome to Ring Of Honor!” following it up with a superkick. Coast 2 Coast get some work done but that’s where Page takes care of business, hitting his infamous moonsault onto the outside. Marty goes for a suicide dive but runs mouth first into a Flip Gordon superkick. Gordon then dives onto the outside. I’ll be honest, I have lost track on who’s the legal man at this point and quite frankly, I don’t care, it’s enjoyable wrestling. Scorpio Sky hits a double drop kick onto The Young Bucks. They throw Sky into the corner and hit the Bullet Train. Marty can’t hit it as his just get him kicked in the head. Sky runs into a quad-triple superkick. *Adverts* Gordon hits a Samoan drop and a running shooting star press onto Jackson. Gordon attempts a 450 but doesn’t hit it and it was this moment where everything went tits up. Gordon goes for another running shooting star press but gets stuck in a chicken wing by Marty Scurll, Sky breaks this up via a top rope elbow. Jackson goes for a springboard manoeuvre but gets hit by a cutter in midair. Sky locks in a dragon sleeper on Jackson and that’s where Page & Nick hit a double superkick onto Sky. Everything is still going tits up. Coast 2 Coast get hit with a triple superkick, and the pinfall finally happens! I can’t even talk about what’s happening right now, you HAVE to see this match. What….an…..ending. Bullet Club get the win in a phenomenal mainevent. Match Rating: 9/10 My Thoughts Well...that was something. I applaud Ring Of Honor, I really do. The company is something else and I’m going to say it. Ring Of Honor is the best wrestling company on the planet. Let’s look at the ratings from worst to best: Worst-Best (Ratings System) Motor Sh***y Machine Guns TK OK Ryan Josh Goods A-Jay-Zing A-Jay-Zing. That is all, that is all. Considerable This week’s considerable is: Where will War Machine go from here? It is clear that they’re having a feud with The Addidtion but where do they go after that? Personally I want to see them feud with a The Briscoes again! What about you? I’m Josh, that was Ring Of Honor and that is all. See you next week. by Josh McCrohonHello there and welcome to another week here on Wrestling & More and it’s time to review this week’s episode of Ring Of Honor! So let’s kick things off as always with:
The Run-Down Match #1 - Matt Taven vs. Jay White The show kicks off with The Kingdom - more importantly Matt Taven who fights Jay White in the opener. Matt is accompanied by TKO Ryan. The match kicks off with a lovely right hook from Matt Taven which knocks White right off his feet. As the match progresses, there’s a great forearm from Jay White, while he also hits a really nice rebound drop kick and locks in a leg lock dragon sleeper. Taven “reaches” the ropes before trying a suicide baseball kick but White moves out of the way and ends up getting struck with a suicide dive from White. *Adverts* Jay White gets hit with a chop. White takes out The Kingdom single handily and even hits Taven with a brainbuster on the apron! White runs and hits a European uppercut in the corner and hits Taven with an overhead belly to belly suplex. Taven then hits a nice combo but that gets countered with a spinning heel kick. Jay gives Matt a really nice German suplex but after that The Kingdom distracts the referee and Taven goes to hit Jay with a baseball bat but that’s countered. Taven goes for a frog splash but White just gets his knees up. The match so far is a really competitive one. TKO Ryan distracts the referee while White is top rope which allows Ryan’s partner in crime to strike Jay with the bat and Matt hits a super climax from the top rope for the win. The Kingdom then attempt to “chop” White’s arm off which would be very inconvenient considering that the cameras are filming this live on TV! Match Rating: 8/10 *Adverts* Match #2 - Shane Taylor vs. Cheeseburger It’s time for match number 2 of the ROH World TV championship series and out first it’s Shane Taylor. Shane takes on everybody’s favourite uneatable Cheeseburger - hell even vegetarians love him! The winner of the match is in the fatal 4 way corners match for the TV championship at Final Battle. The match kicks off with them staring off and also gives us an idea of the size difference. Shane pushes Cheeseburger down. He responds with a slap but Shane flings him to the ropes but Cheeseburger goes for a sleeper hold. Taylor throws him off once more but Burger hits one hell of a superkick. Taylor hits a rebound chokeslam and everybody including myself expected the 3 count but the heart of Burger doesn’t go down like that and he kicks out! Cheeseburger climbs up slowly and turns right into a KO punch for the count. The Dawgs come out and have a little proposition for Taylor, if he takes out Cheeseburger out for good, The Dawgs will give Taylor a tub of pennies but Shane pours out the pennies onto the team. The Dawgs are like “we’ll do it ourselves” but Shane stops them and they roll out. Match Rating: 3/10 Match #3 - Adam ‘Hangman’ Page vs. Dalton Castle One third of the ROH 6 Man Tag Team champions, Adam Page is in action next as he wrestles Dalton Castle in the main-event. Cody leaves the commentary table to have a talk to Adam but Dalton hits a suicide dive onto The Bullet Club pair. Cody returns to the announcing booth and Dalton not only throws Page into the barricade but hits a suplex on the outside aswell as one in the ring. At this point, Adam Page still has his jacket on. Page goes to the outside and Dalton taunts for the crowd. *Adverts* As we return, Adam Page returns the favour by throwing Dalton into the barricade. Adam Page hits a standing moonsault onto the outside onto Dalton. Page gives Castle a few standard boots but Castle tries to capitalise with a swift elbow which leads to nothing. One of the commentators says “Adam Cole is looking like a million bucks” which has nothing to do with the match- I just thought it was quite a funny botch to be honest! Castle hits a big shot and Page goes to the outside. Dalton throws Page around and just manhandles him. Castle shouts to Cody and calls him “A Son Of A Bitch”. Castle then shows more of his amateur wrestling ability. Castle goes for a German suplex which Page lands on his feet and hits a nice suplex of his own! Not even a minute later, the match is going to end but that’s where Cody pulls the referee out of the ring. Castle follows and ends up chasing Cody around the ring but he runs into a shooting star press off of the apron from Page. Cody holds Castle’s arms behind his back and Page goes to punch Castle, who moves out of the way and Page hits Cody. Dalton Castle then promptly wins by submission. After the match, Cody and Page take out Dalton Castle. Page holds Dalton back and Cody punches Dalton in the face with the ring on his finger. He then proceeded to make Dalton kiss the ring. Match Rating: 8/10 Bully Ray Promo The main-event segment was Bully Ray cutting a promo about his future. He pulls out a piece of paper which has a bit of a speech prepared, but he can’t read it so he pulls out his Bubba glasses for a pop then takes them off. He says who needs a script and will shoot straight. He says that he truly believes in ROH just like he truly believed in ECW. He also says he loves everybody in the crowd. The ROH COO, Joe comes out and says he can’t thank him enough. Jay Briscoe then comes out and asks if he’s really going out like this. He says that Bully looks like a big pussy, and also says that he’s acting like a bitch. Bully takes off his jacket but gets held back by Joe. Jay spits on Bully and everything goes tits up from here to say the least. Jay takes down Bully and goes goes for a chair but Tommy Dreamer runs down and threatens Jay. Mark arrives to talk some sense into Jay but then low-blows Tommy. Velvet Sky then shields Bully but The Briscoes threaten them in genuinely quite uncomfortable TV. The Briscoes hit a 3D on Bully which is basically them spitting in his face even more before they start swearing which gets censored. My Thoughts Wow. Yeah, okay then. Sort of a cliffhanger ending there. Great episode of ROH. No, I’ll retract that, fantastic episode of ROH there. Let’s have a look of the ratings: Worst-Best (The Ratings System) Motor Sh***y Machine Guns TK OK Ryan Josh Goods A-Jay-Zing I was going to give this episode a Josh Goods for the 3rd consecutive week but after that ending it’s a... A-JAY-ZING! Wow, what an achievement. Considerable This is the segment where I give you something to take away, this week’s considerable: ROH Championship. Who do you think will be the next ROH champion? Personally I’ve got a few options: Marty Scurll, Flip Gordon (this one’s very unlikely), Dalton Castle, Jay Lethal, Josh Woods? Anyway what do you think? I’ve been Josh and this has been a Ring Of Honor to do. See you next week! by Josh McCrohonHello there and welcome to the second edition of “This week in Ring Of Honor”. I am your host Josh and I’m ready to watch this week’s episode and give you a run-down which brings us to our first segment:
The Run-Down Match #1 - Punishment Martinez vs. Josh Woods The show starts with Punishment Martinez (who is in a ROH TV championship series) his opponent is Josh Woods. There will be 3 one on one single matches in the next few weeks and there will be a fatal 4 way corners match at Final Battle. The match kicks off with some pushes and punches. Josh Woods hits a nice seatbelt suplex early in the match. The commentators say that Cheeseburger will fight Shane Taylor next week in the series. Punishment does a really nice springboard senton. Josh Woods did a great overhead belly to belly which looks like something I wouldn’t want to be apart of - in fact, I wouldn’t want to do anything with Josh Woods as he’d probably snap me into 8 pieces like an A4 sheet of paper. Woods hits a great discus foreman and Punishment responds with a sweet roundhouse kick. Woods reverses a chokeslam into a cross arm breaker, how does he do it? I don’t know. Martinez finally hits his finishing maneuverer and advances to the four corners elimination match. Match Rating: 7.8/10 Jay Lethal comes out next to cut a promo. He says it’s frustrating that someone keeps sidetracking him when he keeps wanting to go for the gold. Lethal says that he’s finally going to become the 2 time ROH champion. “The Villian” Marty Scurll interrupts and receives “Marty” chants from the crowd. Marty calls Lethal alright and won’t cause a spot of bother. He says that when he came to ROH that he wanted to fight the best and that Lethal is one of the best. Scurll then talks about “the old Jay Lethal”. Jay says that he did villainous things because he wanted to and not that he had to (referring to Marty). Scurll then refers to Lethal’s macho man gimmick. He finally says that he gets to hand-pick his opponent and says that he chooses Jay Lethal. Jay accepts the match (which is really ironic if you think about it). Match #2 - Mark Briscoe vs. Kenny King [ROH TV Title Match] Mark Briscoe would fight the ROH TV Champion, Kenny King for the ROH TV championship. The match didn’t really get started as Jay Briscoe flung in the towel for his brother, Mark. Match Rating: 2/10 Match #3 - The Addiction vs. The Best Friends It’s mainevent time! The Addiction (the team of Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian) would take on The Best Friends. The Best Friends get a lot of high paced action in at the beginning. They perform a lovely tag team move, one which I cannot describe. The Addiction however, do get the advantage after a while. The match is really competitive and the two teams have really solid chemistry. The Best Friends finally get their desired hug. War Machine assisted Best friends to win the match and will fight Motor City Machine Guns. Match Rating: 7/10 My Thoughts It is crazy how many things Ring Of Honor can cram inside 50 minutes, it seriously blows my mind. If you didn’t know, I write these episodes while watching Ring Of Honor without knowing what is going to happen next and ...oh my god Marty Scurll against Jay Lethal will be awesome. I cannot wait for that match! But enough about me let’s go to the ratings, here they are from WORST to BEST: Worst-Best (The Ratings System) Motor Sh***y Machine Guns TK OK Ryan Josh “The Goods” Goods A-Jay-Zing This week I’d give Ring Of Honor: Josh “The Goods” Goods. Well done to them again. Considerable Considerable is the segment where I give you something to consider about this week’s edition. This week’s considerable: Marty Scurll Vs. Jay Lethal. Are you looking forward to that match, do you hate the idea of Jay wanting to go for the gold and wanting to stay focused - until 2 minutes later where he gets sidetracked once again? Anyway that’s all we have time for (well I have quite a lot of time but I think that’s enough of this week’s episode, don’t you think?) Well….I’ll see you next week for This Week In Ring Of Honor. See you then. by Josh McCrohonWelcome to the first instalment of “This week in Ring Of Honor.” I am your host Josh, and I’m ready to give you my review of this week’s episode (4th of November). Now, let’s get started.
The Run-Down The show kicks off with The Dawgs taking on The Kingdom and Coast 2 Coast in a triple threat tag team match. Starts off with some good tag team action with the crowd really into it. There are really nice spots in the match with some incredible flips. LSG gives us a great reminder of just how good he is in the ring. Coast 2 Coast hit a really nice double Coast to Coast. However it’s The Kingdom who pick up with the win. Up next, the Ring Of Honor champion - Cody - came out to say that he’s willing to defend his title against a fan favourite which leads the crowd to chant “Dalton Castle.” Cody then proceeds to say he isn’t here tonight. He says that instead, he will fight the number one contender, Ryan Nova. Ryan Nova doesn’t kiss the ring, instead he takes it off Cody’s finger with his mouth, which leads to Cody picking it up and that in turn leads to a roll up which Cody kicks out off. Cody shortly hits the Cross Rhodes but then picks Nova’s shoulders up at 2. He locks in an inverted figure four leg lock which Nova taps out to. Dalton Castle then comes out with a big reaction from the crowd. Cody says that he will call “Paul” and let Dalton develop his skills. Cody tries to walk past Dalton but Castle attacks Cody. Dalton then says that he is going to take Cody’s title away and poses with the belt. Main-event time. War machine battle it out with The Motor City Machine Guns for the Ring Of Honor Tag Team championships. War Machine get the better of the Motor City Machine guns right from the get-go. The match is a really good one and is fast paced - action, left, right and centre. It all goes well until War Machine gets sprayed by Christopher Daniels while Frankie Kazarian talks on the mic. Chris Sabin retains the title for MCMG via a roll-up. My Thoughts Overall, I think it was a great episode with great matches. War Machine is my favourite tag team in the world right now. The tag team scene developed and now I’m looking forward to see who fights MCMG at final battle in December. But you know what time it is... unless you don’t... let’s look at the ratings! Worst-Best (The Ratings System) Motor Sh***y Machine Guns TK OK’Ryan Josh Goods A-Jay-Zing This week had great action and makes me look forward to next week’s edition. This week it’s Josh Goods. Considerable So as you may know this is the segment where I talk about the biggest part of this week’s episode - this week’s considerable: Dalton Castle. He is massively over with the fans which is a great thing to see. Will he be the next ROH champion? That’s the big question... That’s all we’ve got this week: Join us next week! |
