by Rob Goodwin @REALRobGoodwinOkay guys...first time of doing this.. I'm going to try and predict the results to No Mercy 2016 this Sunday. Now I love SmackdownLive at the moment and think they are easily the better brand, yes they have a couple of things to improve (MAKE WYATT WIN A MATCH FOR THE LOVE. OF. CHRIST!) but I feel their storylines and wrestling is better overall than their RAW counterparts. So, here it goes, feel free to disagree on Twitter, I look forward to disagreeing with you in turn; Match #1 - Jack Swagger vs. Baron CorbinOh Jesus I really don't care, the feud doesn't make sense and their last match on the go home Smackdown ended in such confusing fashion that it just left me not caring. But, I can't stand Swagger so I'll go for BARON CORBIN. Match #2 - Nikki Bella vs. CarmellaAnother feud that has literally come from nowhere but at least has built slightly over the past few Smackdowns. Now, Bella has taken a bit of beating in the last few weeks and we all know what that means, victory for NIKKI BELLA. Match #3 - Rhyno & Heath Slater (c) vs. The UsosI'm genuinely excited for this match, I really didn't think I would be but The Usos’ run as a heel team has been excellent, I like what they did to American Alpha and I think that they will probably go over in this match, much as it saddens me to say as I like what they have done with Slater. THE USOS Match #4 - Randy Orton vs. Bray WyattOh God, every fibre of my being is wanting me to say Wyatt but he's just not going to is he? Have Orton lose two PPV's in a row? It's just not going to happen so, RANDY ORTON. Match #5 - Becky Lynch (c) vs. Alexa BlissThis is a strange one as they have made an awesome heel out of Bliss but quite a weak face out of Becky even though she is an excellent wrestler! I'm going to say BECKY LYNCH because I think if she drops the title now it's going to be difficult for her to build up any momentum again. Match #6 - The Miz (c) vs. Dolph ZigglerWhat a match this is going to be, this is the match I'm most excited for and it could literally go either way! The build up has been excellent and both men have cut phenomenal promos. If the match lives up to the hype then we could be looking at a match of the year candidate, especially as the stakes are so high (title vs. career match.) Its impossible to call, but I'm going to go for THE MIZ, his heel run has been one of the high points of this year but I don't want the end of Ziggler, we'll have to see. Match #7 - AJ Styles (c) vs. Dean Ambrose vs. John CenaOh wow - this could be carnage! Again the promos and in ring build up between these three has been incredible and I cannot wait for this match! I think they will drag out Cena wanting to equal Flair's record for a bit longer, I don't think they will give it to Ambrose again (shame) but AJ is the right man at the moment, his mic work and his wrestling prowess have earnt him the victory in this match, so I'm going with AJ STYLES pinning Dean Ambrose.
So, there you have it, my first prediction list. In summary we have: CORBIN, NIKKI BELLA, ORTON, USOS, LYNCH, MIZ, AJ STYLES! Disclaimers: At the time of writing Curtis Hawkins didn't have an opponent so he is exempt from the list. Also, I know this won't be the order of the matches but I tried to put it in a logical order dammit!! |
